Health Technology outfit, Cradlecare Africa was announced the 1st runner-up at the Kids Innovation Challenge 2023.
The young innovators held both the judges and participants spellbound with the technological mastery and creativity.
Cradlecare is a medical record system reputed for impeccable keeping of medical records of children between the ages of 0-17.
The tech outfit is intent on fighting infant mortality in sub-Saharan Africa by encouraging medical practitioners and parents to keep track of their children medical records properly.
It also entails a notification system, keeping parents abreast of their kids’ hospital appointments and immunization schedules, among others.
Seven innovative startups qualified for the final stage and demo day of the Kids Innovation Challenge from the previous 2 rounds as many entries were disqualified.
The quartet of Tomilola Abayomi, Emmanuel Ishola, Ibrahim Olawuyi, and Abdulsamad Adeyemi; trained by Edtech Platform, KidsTech Africa are the brains behind Cradlecare.
The team, led by Tomilola Abayomi, was the 5th tech startup to present its innovation before the judges and audiences during the challenge that took place at the Idera Conference Hall at Radisson Blu Hotels, Victoria Island Lagos, Nigeria.
Aside from its laudable presentation, Cradlecare three won prizes and recognition in the various startup and innovation challenges in 2023.
The team emerged 2nd runners up at the e-Govt Hackathon, which was organized by the Ilorin Innovation Hub in January 2023 before going on to win again at the African Teen Tech Fest 2023 in May.
Cradlecare recently launched a beta version of their solution via a Web App. It can be accessed via www.cradlecareafrica.com.
