Management of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) has debunked allegation bordering on financial malfeasance by an online newspaper, noting that the revenue generating agency is being guided by strict professional and intent to shore up the revenue streams of the state.
This revelation was contained in a press release singed by the agency’s head of Corporate Affairs, Titilayomi Ogunwale Wednesday, 2 November, 2022.
According to her, KW-IRS, unlike what was obtainable in the previous administration, does not control its spending nor does it handle any funds anymore.
Ogunwale said the agency no more lives in the era of inflated consultancy fees, stressing that it has saved taxpayers a substantial amount of N3.9billion in what should have been paid to shoddy consultancy firms.
She boasted that these savings from consultancy services are being earmarked for infrastructure of varying degrees in the state as a show of transparency and patriotism by the AbdulRahman led administration.
Ogunwale, however, stated that the agency is unperturbed by malevolent agenda to batter the image of the organization before the public, claiming that it is committed to promoting the developmental initiatives of the government.
