Coordinators of the All Progressives Congress Support Group under the aegis of Kwara State Amalgamated APC Support Groups (KWAASG) on Tuesday, February 14 visited Dr. Muhammed Alimi Abdulrasaq, the Mutawali of Ilorin, in the capital of Ilorin.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Gbenga Ipaye appreciated Dr. Alimi for his love and unwavering commitment to the development of the state.

He maintained that the groups’ resolve to ensure the re-election of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is sacrosanct.

While informing the legal practitioner about the reason for the visit, Ipaye enjoined leadership of the party in the state to work with team spirit and bring all the Progressive Support Groups under one unifying umbrella.

He, however, praised the selfless efforts of coordinators of the support groups, compromising seasoned technocrats and gallant Otoge crusaders who fought unrelentingly for the oust the age-long Saraki dynasty in 2019.

Ipaye further ascribed the coordinators’ appointment into the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and Independent Campaign Council (ICC) to their commitment to the growth of the ruling APC.

He then appealed strongly to the leadership of the party to extend empowerment programmes such as KWASSIP among others to members of the support groups.

He also stressed that the roles of support groups cannot be undermined in the history of the party’s triumph in the last general elections, adding that they are grassroot mobilizers that are closer to the electorate.

The leader of the delegation, again, acknowledged Dr. Alimi’s commitment to the peace and development of the state.

In his reaction, the Mutawali of Ilorin Emirate, commended the support groups’ unflinching support and strive to chart a better course for the state.

In his final submission, Dr. Alimi pledged to continue to support the groups to achieve their goals which is to have a better Kwara and Nigeria by extension.
