A female student of the Kwara State College of Education, who was said to be Aminat Tajudeen, slumped and died while lecture was ongoing.
It was reported that the incident occurred around 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 13.
According to reliable source, the late Amina had collected her matriculation gown for the ceremony fixed for Thursday and returned to class where she later lost her life.
A senior staff of the school, who craved anonymity, said the deceased was rushed to the school clinic after she suddenly slumped during a lecture.
She was later taken to the Muslim cemetery, Osere, for her Janazah and internment.
Reacting to the death of her daughter, the deceased father said that “she showed no sign or symptom of any sickness. We had quite a lengthy discussion on several issues before I escorted her to get a cab to the school.”
The college Public Relations Officer, Mrs Abibat Zubair while confirming the incident, said Amina was a student of Music/Yoruba, noting that she was mourned by the college and students during the matriculation ceremony.
“The Provost visited the parents yesterday to sympathise with them and also mourned her today during the matriculation ceremony together with the students,” the PRO said.
