Kwara drunk police officer, Stephen Yohana to face disciplinary action

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Paul Odama, has issued a directive that disciplinary action he carried out on one of his officers, Stephen Yohana.

The Policeman was seen displaying unprofessional conduct after drinking himself into a stupor in a viral video online.

Yohanna is currently serving in Share Division in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State.

One of his superior that was present during the incident reportedly said, “Leave him, let him stand. See how a Nigeria Police inspector shit for body. He claimed his salary is not enough for him to do anything. I want the whole world to see you and wait to see what the authorities would do about the issue”, the policeman said in the viral video.

According to the Kwara Commissioner of Police (CP) Paul Odama, says, the command was ‘miffed’ over the matter, he described the circulated video as ‘highly repulsive’. He said Yohana ‘s case ‘is more medical than alcoholic’.

The Commissioner of Police, in a press release by the force spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi, said, “The command wishes to state that the police inspector, who is attached to Share Division in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been identified and discovered to be currently undergoing medical examination in the police clinic to ascertain the state of his mental health.

“It was observed that his case is more medical than alcoholic and the result of his medical examination will determine the next action to be taken against him.

“Consequently, the CP has directed that the inspector be put under close observation by his immediate supervisor, the Division Police Officer of Share Divisional pending the conclusion of his treatment”.

According, to the viral video clip, the officer was heard, saying his salary is too much for him to handle.

It was also gathered Yohana who was staggering after drinking himself beyond control, urinated in his official uniform before he was carted away by fellow officer to the Share Police Division from where he was moved to medical facility within the State.
