Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Saturday, May 27 joined the people of Offa Community at the funeral prayer for the Aremo Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye (CON), Africa’s first professor of geology and Baba Adinni of Kwara State who died on Monday.
AbdulRazaq as well as other personalities in the state attended the funeral event.
Afterwards, the Governor proceeded to Erin-Ile in Oyun Local Government Area to register his presence at the Fidau prayer for the late Elerin Oba Abdulganiyu Ajibola Olusokun II (MFR).
The newly appointed chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), therefore expressed his heart-felt grief over the loss of the two personalities in the state, noting that posterity would continue to remember their indelible imprints and praying Allah to grant them al-jannah Firdaus.
Accompanying Governor AbdulRazaq were the Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi; House of Assembly Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu; Senator Lola Ashiru; House of Assembly members; cabinet members; and other top government officials.
Also present at both events were Etsu Patigi Alhaji Ibrahim Bologi II; Olofa of Offa Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II; Oba Ismail Yahya Alebiosu; Chairperson Federal Character Commission Muheeda Dankaka; Mutawali of Ilorin Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq; founder of Al-Hikmah University and Jagunmolu Igbaja Alhaji Oladimeji Igbaja.
Emir of Ilorin Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari was represented by Sarkin Salama of the Emirate Alhaji Ayuba Gambari.
A member of the Kwara State Arabic Education Board, Dr. Ahmad Agbaje, said the late Oyawoye was a true believer and philanthropist, who sincerely worshipped Allah.
Dr. Agbaje praised the Governor for finding time to attend the Fidau prayers and for his developmental strides in the state since taking over power in 2019.
In his preaching, the Chief Imam of Isale-Oja Erin-Ile Sheikh Ibrahim Abdulrazaq disclosed that every should would taste in due time, advising everyone to be steadfast in good deeds.
He, however, described the late traditional ruler as a great man who contributed a lot to the development of his community.
