The joy of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, knows no bound as Ilorin-born Islamic scholar, Prof. Abdurrazaq Abdulmajeed Alaro (mni) bagged the ‘most intellectual impact’ award of the International Islamic University of Madina, Saudi Arabia.
AbdulRazaq felicitated the erudite academic for not only making the Emirate proud, but also boosting the reputation of the country in the area of academics.
The Governor, in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye on Thursday described Prof. Alaro as “a global leader in Islamic law and a public intellectual who continues to impact his community with his contributions to knowledge.”
He furthered that Alaro’s excellent feat would serve as a source of motivation for younger generations.
“The Government and people of Kwara State are proud to identify with the sterling achievements of Professor Alaro. We share in the joy and honour that this recognition brings to him and his family, especially because of the inspiration such a feat gives to younger generations.”
“We pray Allah to grant him more successes in the coming years and the good health to live his dreams to the fullest.”
The University of Madina on Wednesday night announced Prof. Alaro as the best alumnus of all time with the most intellectual impact.
The legal scholar was honoured alongside other outstanding alumni of the school from different countries.
Prof. Alaro, a lecturer at the University of Ilorin, received the Kwara State Lifetime Achievement Award in December 2022.
Prof. Alaro who hails from Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State is a renown Islamic preacher who has also used his intellectual resources to contribute to wide acceptance of Islamic Banking in the country.
