In furtherance of its support for the fight against illicit substance abuse, the Kwara State Government has donated some essential relief materials to the State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Mamman Jibril, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary attached to the Governor’s Office, Mrs. Oluyomi Esther Folashayo presented the relief items on behalf of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to the state commander, CN Ibrahim Muhammad Bashir on Wednesday, 27th of March, 2024.
The Permanent Secretary, who led the delegation, appreciated the commander’s unwavering commitment in waging war against the menace of illicit drug abuse and other social vices wreaking havoc on the future of the teeming youth of the country’s population.
While appreciating the state government’s kind gestures, the commander noted that materials would not only improve the operations of the command but also act as a morale booster for the officers.
Speaking further, Muhammad Bashir gave assurance that the materials would be put into proper use in order not to defeat the purposes for which they were donated, thereby praying the Almighty to grant the Governor good health and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.
Some of the relief materials donated includes: One Plasma TV, Two DSTV Decoders, Two Industrial fans, 10 sets of Office Chairs and Tables, One sets of Standard Table Tennis, 150 Mattresses and Blankets, 150 Pillows, One Solar Power Lights, 50 Torch Lights, 50 Cartons of Detergent and Bar Soaps, 50 pieces of Towels, 50 pieces of treated Mosquito Nets.
