Kwara State Government has approved the construction of a new multi-storey hospital complex at the popular civil service clinic.
According to a press release signed by the state commissioner for communications, Bola Olojoku, the project was conceived with intent to decongest the growing demand for medical services at the General Hospital Ilorin, which has been converted to a tertiary hospital to train student doctors from the Kwara State University, KWASU.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam said the expansion would put a stop to space constraints experienced at the civil service clinic.
In a related development, the commissioner also revealed that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq ratified earmarked N2.9bn for various agricultural interventions during the wet season for properly registered farmers in order to boost food security.
The intervention funds also cover N1.4bn worth of fertilisers and N567m seed and agrochemical inputs and clearing of 715 hectares of farmlands at the agroprocessing zone and another 714 hectares of farmlands at the Malete Integrated Youth Farm Training Cemtre.
