Kwara State Government warned that it would not hesitate to penalise any Secondary School principal charged collects above the approved National Examination Council (NECO) examination fees by the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
The state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Saadatu Madibo Kawu said the preventive move “is part of ongoing reform agenda to curb all exorbitant charges on external examinations by some principals in the state.”
Modibbo issued this warning in press release authored by the Ministry’s Press Secretary, Peter Amogbonjaye, Sunday, February 12.
She further gave the break down of the approved registration fees and other Charges for Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (NECO)2022/ 2023 as indicated below:
NECO FEES. ————–N17,800.00
E-Regisration Charge——N1,050.00
Administrative Charge to School————-N1,100.00
Four -figure table ——-N500.00
Every School would pay a mandatory sum of N5,200 for photo album, syllabus and Water proof Certificate folder/jacket, while the total amount to be paid for NECO examination by each candidate stands at N22,450 only.
Modibbo, however, warned principals against admission of external students for this year’s registration exercise as the ministry directed that all payments be made to KWIRS.
