Kwara State government has said it will not hesitate to penalise any secondary school principal culpable for collecting illegal additional charges for external examinations.
It stated that such dubious practice has long been outlawed.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mary Kemi Adeosun, who was represented by the Ministry’s Director of Curriculum and Assessment, Hajiya Folashade Raji issued this warning while addressing Principals of Senior Secondary Schools at the annual West African School Certificate Examination meeting held at Saint Anthony Secondary School, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
According to her, the total approved registration fees for the 2022/2023 WASSCE stands N20,150.
She further stressed that the state government will sanction any principal who attempts to force additional charges on the students, further reiterating the resolve of the AbdulRahman led-administration to improve the life of teachers and students.
For her part, the Chairman of Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, Bello Tauheed Abubakar, eulogized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his feats in the state education sector.
