Kwara monarch, Onijagbo gets letter of appointment

The newly crowned monarch in Kwara State, Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Sharafadeen Adeniyi Buhari has receives his letter of appointment.

The state commissioner for Local Government, Chieftancy and Community Development, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Kora-Sabi, on behalf of Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq presented the letter of appointment to the new traditional ruler on Monday.

AbdulRahman said the appointment demonstrated that his government holds the traditional institution in a high esteem.

However, the Governor, appealed to the traditional ruler to at all time put head together with “his people along in the discharge of his responsibilities to the community.”

He continued, “I want to call on Your Royal Highness to reciprocate this gesture in the discharge of your responsibilities to the community without fear or favour. I wish to once again, congratulate Your Highness and the good people of Ijagbo on this glorious occasion and pray that the reign of His Highness will enhance peace, progress and development in Ijagbo in particular and the state at large”, the governor said.

Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh expressed her gratitude to the Governor AbdulRahman for making the choice of the people come true in the selection of the new king.

While felicitating the people of Ijagbo and Oyun Local Government, the TIC Chairman of Oyun Local Government, Dr. Abdulwaheed Ibrahim the new Onijagbo of Ijagbo a successful reign.

The Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs to the Governor, Hon. Abdulganeey Olusola, assured the people of current administration’s resolve to always listen to the voice of the masses.

Expressing his appreciation, the new monarch, thanked Governor AbdulRahman for ensuring a transparent and hitchfree selection process.

The Onijagbo also thanked the Kingmakers and the entire Ijagbo community for their support and cooperation throughout the whole selection process.
