Kwara NUJ expresses joy over Ajakaye’s reappoinment

The Kwara State branch of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has expressed its joy over the reappoinment of Rafiu Ajakaye as Chief Press Secretary to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for another four years.

The association said it is not surprised by the veteran journalist’s, further noting that Ajakaye’s hard work, dedication and professionalism earned him the reappointment.

The council was proud of Ajakaye, who according to it has set an enviable record in the management of Governor’s media.

This NUJ made the remark in a joint statement issued in Ilorin today by the Chairman, State Council of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Assistant Secretary, Olayinka Alaya.

The NUJ stated that CPS, with his vast experience excellently defend the programmes and policies Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration through insightful pieces.

The NUJ furthered that the reappoinment of Ajakaye indicates the Governor’s confidence in him and the NUJ as an indivisible entity.

The union, however, implored Ajakaye to continue to commit himself to the course of Almighty God and also embrace humanitarian services and display his virtues for which he is known.

The NUJ also felicitated Ajakaye for being a good ambassador of the union and prayed God to continue guide throughout and after his appointment.

“We specifically thank Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the continued demonstration of trust and confidence he has in the media and NUJ in particular with the reappoinment of Rafiu Ajakaye as his Chief Press Secretary. It is very heartening.

“As a union, we know the reappoinment didn’t come by chance but a product of hard work, dedication and demonstration of professionalism, which hallmarked Ajakaye’s duty in the last four years.

“Our prayer is that Almighty God guides and guards him in the tasks ahead of him to be able to do more and etch his name in the sand of time”, the NUJ’s statement partly read.
