A graduate of Kwara State University, Malete, Salamat Abisola AbdulRahman has been shortlisted for the Kwara State Government’s “Best Student of Kwara State Origin in Nigeria” award.
Salamat who was named in the category of Best Student of Kwara State Origin in Nigeria, graduated from Kwara State University in the department of Agricultural Economics with a First Class Degree.
The contestants, according to a statement signed by the university’s spokesperson, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, were selected on the basis of their Academic Performance (CGPA), Communication Skills, Character and Approach, General Knowledge and Developments within the state among other criteria.
The young scholar, in a chat with EVENTNG, expressed ecstasy at the development, noting that positive mindset earned her the shortlisting.

While attributing the feat to God, Salamah stressed that she ensures she add value to herself on a daily.
Speaking further, she maintained that she was fond of evaluating herself intellectually before she went to bed during her university days – at least she must read every night.
Similarly, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh in a congratulatory message to Salamat for being among the final six contestants for the award, said her emergence is an indication that KWASU is producing students with global standard.
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on December 23, 2022 at the Banquet Hall, opposite the Government House, Ilorin.
