The Governing Council of Kwara State University, Malete has promoted eight of its teaching staff to the status of professor.
The announcement was contained in a press release signed by the institution’s Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Bolajoko Aliyu on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
The announcement followed the 65th Regular Meeting of the Governing Council of the University which took place on the 16th and 17th of May 2023.
Two among the staff attained full professorship and the other six were promoted to Associate Professorship.
The newly promoted Professors are:
Professor Imoloame O. Emmanuel with specialisation in Weed Science; and,
Professor Ngozi Bibiana Nwabufo, with specialisation in Commerce and Cooperative Studies.
The Associate Professors are:
Dr. Saeedat Bolajoko Aliyu with specialisation in African Literature;
Dr. Reuben Kehinde Akano specialist in African Literature; and,
Dr. Olayinka Jelili Yusuf with specialisation in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.
The others are
Dr. Adeniyi Ganiyu Adeogun, specialist in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Structures;
Dr. Samson Olalekan Odeyemi, specialist in Structural Engineering; and
The late Dr. Isa Yakub Ajeigbe who specialised in Human Kinetics.
The City Gazette reports that Dr. Ajeigbe, a lecturer and Head of Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education at the Kwara state University, Malete, Dr. Ajeigbe Issa Yaqub, died in his sleep on Monday, 24th of April, 2023.
This platform leant that the member of KWASU teaching staff was said to have died in his sleep in the wee hours of Monday, 24th of April 2023.
The horrible development left members of his family members, associates and colleagues alike in stark surprise and shock.
Before his demise, the late Dr. Ajeigbe was also the Ag. Director of Sports at the state-owned university and his funeral prayer (Salatul Janazah) was held at his hometown Budo-Egba, Asa LGA , Kwara state.
