The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, has commenced accreditation of the electorate and voting in some polling units in Ibadan in the local government election in Oyo State.
The election is currently ongoing in the 33 local government areas by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC.
The is medium gathered that there was a delay in the arrival of materials in some polling units.
The Daily Post visited some local government areas, including Ido, Ibadan North, and Ibadan North East to ascertain smooth conduct of the exercise.
A visit to polling unit 1, Ward 11 in Ibadan North East Local Government confirmed that accreditation and voting have commenced.
An OYSIEC official who spoke to Daily Post said the exercise began around 8:30 am.
“This is ward 11 unit 1, Ibadan North East local government area. We started accreditation and voting at 8:30 am. People have been coming here to vote.
“You can see, people have been coming here to vote,” the officer said.
