Man, 22, arrested for allegedly killing mother in Kano

A 22-year-old man, Ibrahim Musa has been apprehended by detectives drafted to the Kano State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his biological mother to death on Wednesday, May 5.

The horrible took place at Rimin Kebbe Quarters in Nassarawa Local Government Area on May 4th, 2023, around 10 pm.

Musa who accepted commission of the murder, also confessed to dealing in illicit substances.

The suspect was arrested at a criminal hideout at Dawakin Tofa Local Government the state following hints from patriotic citizens.

This medium reports that police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa made this disclosure in a press release made available to journalists in Kano on Friday afternoon.

SP Kiyawa in the statement said “On the 4th May 2023 at about 2200hrs (10 pm), Ibrahim Musa, ‘m’, 22 years old was arrested at a criminal hideout in Dawakin Tofa LGA, Kano State”

SP Kiyawa explained that “The suspect confessed to the crime and also confessed to dealing in illicit drug abuse”.

The police spokesperson assured that the 22-year-old suspect who is currently in detention “will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.”

While confirming Musa’s arrest, the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Mohammed Gumel, appreciated concerned citizens who provided information that led to the arrest of the murder suspect.

The Police boss also eulogized the Police tactical teams for making sure the culprit face the wrath of the law.

He stated that “The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc appreciates those that assisted with information that led to the arrest and commended the Police Tactical Teams that ensure that the culprit is brought to book.”
