If reports coming from Foot Mercato are anything to go by, Manchester City have identified Barcelona forward Raphinha, as Riyad Mahrez’s replacement.
The Algerian footballer is on the verge of a transfer move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli this summer.
The forrmer Leicester City winger who was pivotal to City’s Champions League victory last season still has two years left on his contract with the club.
Mahrez was said to have agreed to join Al-Ahli three-year contract and will undergo his medical.
Pep Guardiola, therefore, is intent on bring Raphinha to fill the vacuum created by Mahrez’s absence at the Etihad.
Raphinha joined Barcelona last season despite keen interest from Chelsea and Arsenal to sign the Brazilian player from Leeds United.
Chelsea has reportedly agreed to meet Leeds United’s valuation before the left-footed winger expressed his desire to join Barcelona instead.
