Minister of Health, Muhammad Pate, has admonished Nigerians to hold governments at all levels accountable in order to deliver quality health services.
He made this comment on Wednesday at the Nigeria Health Sector-Wide Joint Annual Review, JAR, in Abuja.
He advised Nigerians to demand improved healthcare services in line with the administration’s vision of a better healthcare system.
“We want you to hold us, along with state and local governments, accountable for providing quality healthcare and basic services that are essential to our people,” he stated.
Pate commended the past and present health ministers, including Dr. Tunji Alausa and Dr. Iziaq Alausa, for their contributions to the sector.
He maintained quality healthcare delivery tops President Tinubu priority list.
Minister of State for Health, Iziaq Salako, said JAR is an important tool for assessing health sector performance, coordinating resources, and addressing gaps.
“As a critical accountability tool, JAR will help us promote multisectoral coordination and set priorities for the upcoming year, aligning with national health goals,” he said.
