Famous Afrobeats singer and producer, David Adeleke professionally known as Davido in the Nigerian music industry has come under severe attack among Muslim faithful and other internet users for alleged disrespecting Islam.
The City Gazette learnt that Davido’s signee, Logos Olori, in his forthcoming music video titled: “Jaye Lo” featured some dancers dressed in the Islamic way, dancing at the end of their prayer on the mats.
The scene, according to some concerned muslim faithful was a way of mocking and desecration of Islamic sacred practices by the artistes.
Meanwhile, Davido was perceived to have been the mastermind of the provocative act, given his influence as mentor of the upcoming artiste.
Prayer (As-salat), according to Islamic tenet is a holy and sacred act that must be treated with every sense of deference among moslems.
Enraged by the video, some moslems have voiced their indignation, asking OBO to take down the video and apologise while some netizens see nothing wrong about the production as they claimed Nigeria is a secular state.
Jaye Lo, since being posted on the official Twitter handle of Davido has caused series of uproar on the internet.
