Naira abuse: ‘Ask Bob for update’ – EFCC threatens culprits

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has cited Bobrisky’s situation as a warning to Nigerians who abuse naira notes.

The anti-graft commission, in its threat message, it would not hesitate to use legal instruments to deter members of the public from abusing the Naira.

It further noted that those in doubt should see a precedent in the conviction of the controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky.

EFCC issued the statement after Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky to six month imprisonment for abusing the naira without an option of fine..

In a statement on its official X account on Friday, EFCC noted that those who failed to stop abusing naira would face the wrath of the law when nemesis catches up with them.

“Say No To Abuse of the Naira. If preaching will not send the message, conviction will,” EFCC wrote on X.
