Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, October 5, 2023, granted a production warrant against Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, referred to as Naira Marley in the entertainment industry.

Naira Marley is currently standing trial on 11-count charges bordering on conspiracy and credit card fraud.

During a court proceeding on Friday, counsel to the defendant, Olalekan Ojo, SAN informed the court of the defendant’s unavoidable absence from court, noting that he was being detained by the Police for interrogation in connection to death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

Ojo, thereby, prayed the court for an adjournment of the trial.

In her response, prosecution counsel, Bilkisu Buhari, however, prayed the court to grant a production warrant against the defendant to ensure his appearance in court for the next proceeding

Justice Oweibo granted the prayers of the prosecution counsel and issued a production warrant against the defendant.

The judge further adjourned the matter until October 30, 2023, for further hearing.
