Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface, has secured a move to a German topflight side, Bayer Leverkusen.
Boniface transferred to the Bay Arena from Belgian Pro League side, Union St. Gilloise.
The forward has been handed jersey number 22, after putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.
Boniface has been on the radar of Bayer Leverkusen since scoring against the Bundesliga outfit in the UEFA Europa League last season.
Leverkusen sporting director, Simon Rolfes expressed his joy over the signing of the striker.
“We’ve had Victor Boniface on our radar for a long time,” Rolfes told the club’s official website.
“His performance in a direct duel then absolutely confirmed our positive assessment. Victor is a very present center forward who is difficult to play and who poses a challenge for every defender just because of his physicality. In addition, he is also fast and technically adept.”
He joined Union St.Gilloise from Norwegian club, Bodo/Glimt last summer.
