Kwara state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said a yet-to-be identified man had been knocked down by a reckless driver.
Several casualties were recorded as one of the victims lost his life.
It was gathered that the accident took on Sunday, around Olooru/Oko-olowo highway, close to Shao junction in the Moro Local Government of the state.
When contracted on Monday, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwara State, Frederick Ade Ogidan, said the unfortunately incident involved two male victims.
“Two people (male) were hit during the incident but one of them died while the other sustained bruises and fractures
“The FRSC team later took both the injured victim and the corpse to the general hospital, Oke-Oyi, Ilorin,” he added.
Ogidan identified the vehicle to be a ‘red-coloured private boxer’ as he advised motorists not to drive above the speed limit as prescribed the FRSC.
He further implored pedestrians and other road users to be cautious while playing expressways to prevent accident.
