Lagos State deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Miss Funke Akindele said the opposition party is only platform that address the various challenges facing the country.

Akindele made this comment at a youth programme in Alimosho area of the state.

The movie star therefore charged the youths to entrust their mandate to the PDP in the forthcoming general elections to enjoy good governance.

She noted that the state deserves to be led by individuals who enviable track records in the private industry.

Akindele further encouraged the youths to exercise their fundamental human rights by voting for credible candidates at the March 11 polls.

She said: “It is our right to participate in the coming election and Lagos because we reside and do business in the state. In the forthcoming general elections, we must get it right by voting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as president and Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) as Lagos governor. Enough is enough in Lagos.”

“We need to get ourselves liberated from the hands of the tyranny and oppressors in Lagos. We need an independent governor in Lagos; not a stooge. Jandor and I have never held any political office but had been in private businesses developing talents. With my film organisation, I have nurtured talents that have added value to the development of Lagos and Nigeria.

“We have plenty of youths with talents but the present APC government is not interested in nurturing the talents and making the youths more productive. Mark my word, Jandor’s government will do better than the APC government in Lagos. We will help you in developing your talents beyond your expectations”, said Akindele.”

She added: “It is high time the youths took back Lagos from the hands of the oppressors who have been ruling us since 1999. We must vote out the APC come February 25 and March 11. Enough is enough. I want you to take this message, which is a breath of fresh air, to your friends, parents and neighbours.

“We will make strong political statements on those two days through our permanent voter’s card (PVC). Those in government in Lagos and Nigeria are not more brilliant than us. They are in a position to make laws for their own betterment, not in our favour, ” she stressed.
