Nigeria’s dream to feature in the 2026 World Cup is fully back on track following a seamless win against Rwanda in Kigali on Friday afternoon.

Galatasaray hitman victor Osimhen replicated his outstanding form in the turkish top-flight as he put the Super Eagles two times in the 11th and 48th minutes.

This triumph against the home teams stands as the Super Eagles’ first ever victory in the world Cup qualification and has not scored an away goal against Rwanda in the last 20 years.

The Super Eagles were under serious pressure to claim the maximum three points in Kigali on Friday afternoon as they arrived at the Stade Amahoro sitting fifth in Group C – five points adrift the automatic qualification spot.

The Green White Green team will have to put up scintillating performances in their next five matches in order to dislodge both South Africa and Benin Republic who have occupied first and second spots respectively on the table.
