The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Osun State, said that 1,500 operatives will be deployed for the Eid-el-Fitr festival.
The Osun NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, revealed this in a statement issued by Kehinde Adeleke, its Public Relations Officer, on Monday.
The Commandant admonished muslim faithful to emulate the habit of moderation and celebration in line with constitutional provisions.
He also revealed that the personnel comprises a special female squad, swift action response, anti-vandalism unit, armed squad, crisis management, intelligence and surveillance unit, anti-kidnapping and cultism unit for overt and covert operations to provide maximum security of lives and property.
“The 1,500 personnel were drawn from a special female squad, swift action response, anti-vandalism unit, armed squad, crisis management, intelligence and surveillance unit, anti-kidnapping and cultism unit for overt and covert operations for adequate security of lives and property.
“I charge you to work in synergy with other sister agencies in the state and discharge your duties with diligence and a high level of professionalism for a hitch-free celebration.
“The patrol team would cover the state while some personnel would be deployed to strategic locations, also praying grounds, recreation centres, malls, market places, critical national assets will be secured before, during and after the celebrations.”
The Osun NSCDC boss also advised the populace to report suspicious acts and persons in their areas to the nearest security agency
On a final note, Micheal implored the Muslim faithful to turn the Almighty for peace, stability, and progress in the country.
