The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has condemned the alleged attack on Governor Ademola Adeleke at the Osogbo Eid prayer ground
Egbedun, thereby, called on security forces to intensify efforts at bringing the perpetrators to book.
The speaker said it took the divine grace for the governor to have escaped the attack, further praising to Adeleke’s security details for foiling the assault.
He, however, said that those who instigated the such criminal behavior against the governor should be made to face severe punishment.
In his reaction, the speaker’s media aide, Tiamiyu Olamide, disclosed that the attack on Governor Adeleke was on the Osun State people.
He also took a swipe at Adeleke’s opponents:
“Trying to exert the pain of losing, which today’s attack represents, is a big miscalculation and will continue to stand as an albatross in your subsequent political journey.”
Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state through a statement by its chairman, Sunday Bisi has cautioned Senator Ajibola Basiru to be courteous, urging the police not to allow some individuals to create chaotic atmosphere in the state.
It was gathered that Adeleke was on Wednesday allegedly attacked at the Eid prayer ground, at Oke-Baale, Osogbo.
