Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahya Adoza Bello of the ruling All Progressives Congress has directed People’s Democratic Party to pay N37.5 million before its candidates vying for various positions could be allowed to paste their campaign posters or distribute flyers in the state.
The governor, in a mail sent to the Kogi State PDP chairman gave directive that the payment be made within two weeks.
The acting Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue agency, Sule Salihu Enehe, in a letter he personally stated that the presidential candidate of the party is to pay N10 million, senatorial candidates are to pay N2 million each, while House of Representatives candidates are to pay N1 million each.
In the same vein, candidates for the state House of Assembly are to pay N500,000.
“Please note that failure to make payment within the stipulated period will lead to the removal of your posters and signages across Kogi State and possible legal action. As we look forward to a timely response and settlement of these obligations, kindly accept the assurance of our highest regard,” he said.
