Ogun state police command has announced that controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola professionally known as Portable is its custody after failing to surrender himself within the 3-day ultimatum given to him.
According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police image maker, Portable is being detained at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Tye Police launched manhunt for the popular singer after escaping arrest and also referred to himself as “a federal government liability”.
In his earlier statement, Oyeyemi noted that if the hip-hop star refused to surrender himself, the police will “go after him.”
“Yes but his father has promised to produce him on or before Friday,” he said.
“So, we are expecting him to show up and if he doesn’t come, we are going after him.
“Only then will he know that we have the wherewithal to get him because he is not bigger than the law.”
The spokesperson maintained that the arrest warrant became necessary after Portable refused to honour the police invitation on several occasions.
