Police arrest three robbery suspects for allegedly attacking Ogun Computer Village

The Ogun State Police Command said it has arrested the three robbery suspects who reportedly attacked the Computer Village in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The suspects who are identified as Ajayi Kayode, Habeeb Idowu, and Temitayo Oresanya, reportedly stormed the computer village and killed one trader on April 12, 2023.

They suspect were eventually arrested on Saturday, at a hideout around Abule Ake area of Kemta.

The City Gazette gathered that the robbery took place on April 12, 2023, when the syndicate wreaked havocs on the Computer Village in Abeokuta.

One trader was said to have lost his life during the attack when an eight-man gang started shooting indiscriminately, causing trader to run for safety .

The traders later summoned courage, pursued the robbers, and got hold of one of them.

When contacted on Sunday, the Police Spokesperson in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, attributed the arrest of three members to a tip-off by the policemen attached to Kemta divisional headquarters.

Oyeyemi noted that the DPO Kemta division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, alongside his men and stormed to the scene where the three men were arrested.

He further revealed that two of the suspects have confessed to taking part in the robbery, while the third, Oresanya, claim to belong to the same cult group as them, noting that he didn’t participate in the robbery attack.

He said, “The suspects, Ajayi Kayode, Habeeb Idowu, and Temitayo Oresanya were arrested, following information received by policemen attached to Kemta divisional headquarters that the suspects have been hibernating at Abule Ake area of Kemta for quite some time now to evade police arrest.

“Upon the information, the DPO Kemta division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, mobilised his men and moved to the scene where the three suspects were apprehended.

“Two of the suspects have confessed their participation in the robbery incident, while the third one Temitayo Oresanya, though affirmed to be a member of the same cult group with them, claimed that he didn’t participate in the robbery.

“Oresanya stated further that Ajayi Kayode and Habeeb Idowu came to his house at Abule Ake to hide from the police after their robbery escapade.”

However, the spokesperson disclosed that the state Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji has issued directives that the case be thoroughly investigated.

“He also directed that the remaining members of the gang must be hunted for and brought to justice,” PPRO said.
