The Enugu State Police Command said it has apprehended two suspects who were seen in a viral video online, battering, stripping, and forcefully shaving the hair of a lady identified as Anastasia.
The operatives serving in Nsukka Area Command said the trio of Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi a.k.a MC Sharp (male), aged 32, Chinenye Agbo a.k.a. Star Ella Ada (female), aged 26 were arrested for molesting Anastasia, Obed’s girlfriend.
According to a press release by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, “The trio and others at large are involved in the viral video wherein Chinenye was seen being beaten, her cloth torn and stripped, and her hair forcefully shaved on the allegation of beating up Anastasia, who is Obed’s girlfriend, and giving her a human bite on the chest.”
Following the preliminary investigation, the trio claimed that maltreatment meted out on Chinenye, as evident in the video, is a prank staged to attract followers on their social media accounts.
While condemning the act, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, has issued a directive that the State CID Enugu be thoroughly investigated and prosecute those found culpable, to deter future reoccurence under the guise of prank.
