The Ogun State Police Command Operatives have arrested a 27-year-old armed robbery suspect, Imole Ajayi, at Area 5, Iperin OPIC Estate, Agbara, Ogun State.

Ajayi was apprehended around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday during a stop-and-search operation along Orita/Idi-Oke Road, Igbesa, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

According to the police, Ajayi is believed to be part of a “one-chance” robbery gang that uses motorcycles to attack stranded motorists.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, in a statement on Friday, said a search of Ajayi’s bag revealed a single-barrel shotgun and three live cartridges, which he could not explain.

Ajayi claimed that the bag belonged to an individual named Samson, alias “Samora,” from Omilende, who had allegedly given him the firearm.

The police are now working to locate Samson, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation.
