Police arrests man for defiling 5-yr-old daughter in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command announced that it has arrested a 28-year-old man, Adeyemi Babatunde, who allegedly defiled his five-year-old daughter.

The police apprehended the suspect following a complaint lodged by mother of the victim at Ijebu-Mushin’s divisional headquarters.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP, Abimbola Oyeyemi made the revelation in a press statement on Thursday, May 25.

Oyeyemi therefore revealed that the victim’s mother learnt about the incident when her daughter complained of incessant pain whenever she wanted to urinate.

The Police image maker who further quoted mother of the victim as lamenting that her daughter always groaned as a result of unknown pain whenever she was bathing her, thereby pointing to her private part.

The victim’s mother said, upon noticing strange feeling from the little girl, she had to mount pressure on the little girl to tell her what happened to her private part.

The victim’s mother who prevailed over her daughter, explained how her father allegedly defiled her.

“It was then the victim informed her that her father laid her on the bed and inserted her manhood into her private part when the mother was not at home,” the statement reads.

“Upon the report, the DPO Ijebu Mushin division, CSP Simire Hillary, quickly detailed his detectives to go after the suspect and he was eventually arrested.

“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed not to know what comes over him as at that time.”

The PPRO said, “The Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour section of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
