The police in Isiokolo, Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State, said it has apprehended a woman for beating her one-year old baby son to death.
The incident took place in Kokori community of the state as the woman was said to have flogged her biological to death with a cane.
This platform learnt that the physical attack was so severe that it led to the eventual demise of the little boy.
Residents of the community lamented that the woman transferred her frustration and aggression to the defenseless child.
It was gathered the woman’s frustration followed rejection of her pregnancy by the father of the child, a suspected internet fraudster. The woman was left to cater to pregnancy all by herself until she delivered.
According to sources, anytime the lady set her eyes on the child, she felt embittered, recalling the maltreatment she received from the father, the suspected Yahoo boy.
On the fateful day, it was gathered that the woman transferred her aggression on the child and flogged him to death even though he did not do anything wrong.
All efforts made by the neighbours to rescue the child was unsuccessful as he died before they rushed him to the hospital.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has yet to comment on the issue despite sending a message sent to him.
