President Bola Tinubu has resumed work at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, after a two-week vacation.
Photos released on Monday show Tinubu at his desk receiving a briefing from Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
The statement read: “President Bola Tinubu at his desk this morning, after returning from a two-week vacation. He received a briefing from Zaccheus Adedeji, Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service. Abuja, Monday, October 21, 2024.”
Tinubu returned to Abuja on Saturday following his vacation in the United Kingdom and France. He had left Abuja on October 2 for a working retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
During his time abroad, Tinubu also traveled to Paris for what was described as “an important engagement.”
His return comes amid concerns over the delay in presenting the 2025 appropriation bill.
The House of Representatives had reminded Tinubu of the Fiscal Responsibility Act, which requires the government to present the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) three months before the annual budget submission. This ensures adequate time for discussions on fiscal policies before the budget is finalised.
