The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-gambari has announced the commencement of the annual Quranic recitation.
The disclosure was contained in a Facebook post by his Personal Assistant to the Emir, Alhaji Raheem Murtala, Wednesday, being January 25, 2023.
The recitation, organised by the eleventh Emir of Ilorin Emirate, usually takes place at the Emir’s palace, two months before the Islamic fasting period – Ramadan.
The recitation will continue till the commencement of the fasting period when the translation version (Tafsir) will be rendered by renowned preachers across various communities constituting the Emirate.
The yearly Islamic programme is an agelong legacy instituted to promote the spiritual inclination of the revered sheikh Alim’s Emirate.
The recitation of the holy Quran will be completed two times on a daily basis as one will be read in the morning and another will be recited in the afternoon.
Leading other Islamic scholars within the Emirate for the programme is the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh, Muhammad Bashir Soliu.
