Amotekun Corps, the security network of states in the Southwest region has apprehended a 24-year-old rape suspect in Iwo, Osun on Friday.
He was said to have held a 16-year-old girl hostage inside his private apartment for three days, forcefully having sex intercourse with her.
Similarly, the Corps also arrested a 28-year-old herbalist on Saturday in Iwo.
The herbalist who duped some people was also in possession of fake 100 dollar and N1,000 notes.
“The suspects were arrested at different locations in Iwo on Friday after reports were made to Amotekun about their nefarious activities.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crimes and were handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution,’’ Adewinmbi said.
The Corps commander charged Osun residents to be of assistance to security agencies in terms of provision of prompt information that could stem the tide of security challenges in the country.
