Real Madrid wants ex-Barcelona star to replace Carvajal

Real Madrid are keeping watchful eyes on former Barcelona academy player, Arnau Martinez as they look to find a permanent replacement for ageing Dani Carvajal.

Reports from El Nacional revealed that Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti are intent on Los Blancos to sign better options to replace Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez.

Real Madrid have also indicated keen interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi and Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda.

But PSG is not willing to ways with Hakimi, and Fresneda has attracted a lot of suitors courting his signature.

The search for a new right back has caused Madrid to turn their attention to Martinez, who plays for Girona.

Martinez spent six years in La Masia until his departure to Girona in 2016.

The 20-year-old has since established himself as a first-team regular player for Girona.

The Spaniard, who is valued at €15 million, still has two years left on his contract with Girona.
