To cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal, the lawmaker representing Owode/Onire state constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Rukayat Shittu has distributed palliatives to market women in her constituency.
To begin the gesture, the young legislator visited Temidire Market in Efue/Berikodo ward of Owode/Onire Constituency, where she intimated the villagers with policies of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led government, thereby promising better service to the people.
While addressing the populace at Temidire market over the weekend, Rukayat allayed fear that the Federal government’s decision to remove subsidy is aimed at inflicting hardship upon the people.
The City Gazette recalls that the governor AbdulRazaq had recently rolled out multisectorial palliatives in the state.
The journalist turned politician further maintained that she was reaching out to indigent villagers in order to complement the efforts of the state government, claiming that governance is a collective responsibility.
