In a bid to beef up security in the state, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has acquired 32 brand new patrol vehicles and 160 motorcycles.
To further improve operations of Kwara State Road Traffic Maintenance Authority, KWARTMA, AbdulRazaq also handed three patrol vehicles to the regulatory body.
The governor, in his remark during the commissioning of the motors at the Government House in Ilorin, said 2 vehicles and 10 motorcycles, would be deployed to each of the 16 local government areas of the state.
Governor AbdulRahman also maintained that the local councils must cooperate with all stakeholders, including security agencies, in order to wade off various security challenges in the state, stressing that all hands must be on deck to ensure a violence-free state.
He said the motors were acquired following the need for security agencies to penetrate some hinterlands within the state and stem the tide of criminal activities in the areas.
