Kwara State Fire Service on Monday recovered the remains of a seven-year-old boy, Abdul-Haayi, who fell into a well in Ilorin, the state capital.
The unfortunate occurence took place at about 5:28 pm. in Yaa-Lateef House, along Tinu Street, Akerebiata area of Ilorin, in Ilorin East Local Government of the state.
The fire officers stormed the scene of the tragic development, following a distress call by one Mr. Idowu, a resident of the neighbourhood where the incident occurred.
Speaking with the press, Hassan Adekunle, the spokesman of the fire service, maintained that fire workers were able to recover the corpse from the well and later handed it over to one Mr Yussuf, a family member of the deceased.
The victim was said to have gone to fetch water at the well and along the line, slipped and fell into the well.
While expressing his sadness over the occurence, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, advised members of public to go about their daily life with caution and desist from sending underage children to fetch water from domestic wells.
