Shao-Malete collapsed bridge: KWASU praises Kwara govt over swift response

Kwara State University has commended the State Government for quickly repairing the collapsed culvert linking Shao to Malete, Moro Local Government area of ​​the state.

He appreciated the state government in a released signed by KWASU Acting Director of University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu on Saturday.

KWASU Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh commented that the state government’s move to quickly repair the road is an indication of its concern for the institution and the people of the area.

The Acting VC also said the state Ministry of Works and Transport made plans to create access road for commuters plying the route few hours after the collapse.

Professor Jimoh while eulogising Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his quick intervention, added that road was useful the university Community and indigenes of the area who are majorly farmers.

The scholar further enjoined the government to continue make people at the grassroots feel the impacts of democracy in order to bring about development in the rural areas of the state.

It would be recalled that a culvert between Shao and Malete road collasped after the torrential rainfall on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
