Ebonyi State Police Command on Tuesday has killed two for allegedly enforcing sit-at-home order at Okposi community in Ohaozara LGA.
The hoodlums attacked the area and began to shoot indiscriminately into the air to terrorise residents.
The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police Augustina Ogbodo made the revelation in a release by the command’s spokesperson, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya on Tuesday.
The two miscreants identified as Emmanuel Edwin and Chigozie Udeh, were arrested in possession of some valuable items.
According to the commissioner, the suspects were involved in a gun duel with the operatives, leading to the killing one of them as another was arrested after sustaining serious
bullet injuries but eventually confirmed dead at a hospital.
“Some armed men suspected to be IPOB/ESN members went to Okposi in Ohaozara LGA and started shooting sporadically into the air. On receipt of the information, the operatives of the command immediately swung into action by giving the hoodlums a hot chase,” she stated.
Some of the items recovered from them include: a blue Highlander jeep riddled with bullets, a pump-action gun, five live cartridges, four mobile phones, a Sumec Fireman generator, charms, and various shop-robbed provisions.
A few red and black face masks, 10 expended pump-action gun cartridges, and nine expended shells of AK-47 rifles were also recovered from the hoodlums.
