Sit-at-home: Three dead as traders protest in Enugu

There was fear in Enugu State as three residents allegedly lost their lives during protests in the Coal City metropolis.

It was reported that traders, in the wee hours of Wednesday embarked on protests following the closure of their shops by the State government for not opening for business on Monday, as a result of sit-at-home enforced by supporters of BIAFRA.

Unfortunately, the protest reportedly degenerated to chaos, leaving about three people reportedly shot dead.

Video clips making the rounds kn the internet show dead bodies of two young men and that of a lady, with their killer unknown as of the time of filing this report.

Security personnel have been mobilised to restore calm and normalcy to the capital city.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Enugu State Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe promised to avail the press with details of the incidents.
