The popular isese advocate in Kwara State, Yeye Ajesikemi Omolara, said social media contributed a lot to the ongoing religious crisis in the country.
While fielding questions from PUNCH reporter, Yeye Omolara, revealed that she had to cancel ISESE festival in Ilorin to allow peace to reign, expressing surprise over how the relationship between the traditional worshippers and muslims has become frosty.
Yeye Omolara furthered stressed that they have been living together with the muslims without any crisis.
She maintained that traditional worshippers have been residing in the city for a long time, lamenting that it’s disheartening that they can not practise their religion.
The Isese devotee said the two faiths should be blamed for escalating the misunderstanding on social media.
“I can not point at one thing. However, social media isn’t doing much good. You see Muslims insulting and degrading us, and we, in turn, respond to their insults. These back and forth trigger many.”
