The Minister of State For Defence, Bello Matawalle, has critised the call for protest against inflation in commodities and fuel prices by the former governor of River State, Rotimi Amaechi.
According to a statement from an interview, Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, berated the youth for not taking action by protesting the increment in the cost of living and the economic hardship in the country.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Henshaw Ogubike, faulted Amaechi comments as rash and irresponsible.
Furthermore, the former governor of Zamfara State defended President Bola Tinubu, stating that the president has been working endlessly to ensure the peace and security of lives and property of Nigerians.
He stressed that any move to incite the youth yo destabilize the country will not accept and caution Amaechi against slandering the government’s good intentions for Nigerians.
Ogubike, express his disappointment in Amaechi comments, that it’s expected of him to joined hands with the government to promote peace and progress not cast aspersion against the good intention of the president and incite the Nigerians against him.
