Super Falcons crash out of World Cup

The Super Falcons have lost their round of 16 match to England in the ongoing Women’s World Cup in Australia.

It was not an easy encounter for the Randy Waldrum’s team as the Lionesses proved a hard nut to crack on Monday morning at the Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, Australia.

Rachel Daly’s penalty was cancelled in the 33th minute of the encounter after a lengthy VAR check confirmed that no foul was spotted.

Chelsea Lauren James red card was not enough to give Nigeria the much desired victory against England in order to book a place in the quarterfinal.

The England forward was sent for stamping on Nigeria right back, Michelle Alozie, in the 87th minute.

The Super Falcons held the Lionesses to a goalless throughout the regulation time and eventually dragged the England team into a penalty shootout at the expiration of extra time.

The Super Falcons eventually lost 4-2 to the English Ladies as both Michelle Alozie and Desire Oparanozie fire wide for Nigeria, while Bethany England, Alex Greenwood, Chloe Kelly and Rachel Daly’s takes gave England the ticket into the last eight of the championship.
