Bayo Onanuga, spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, has advised immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to surrender himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Onanuga said that Bello has nowhere to hide.
Onanuga made this comment after EFCC declared Bello following allegation of misappropriation while he was in charge of Kogi State as governor.
He was alleged to have diverted N80.2 billion from the state purse.
The anti-corruption agency called on those with hints on how to arrest the former governor to contact the commission or the police.
The declaration followed the tussle between Bello and the EFCC.
Bello’s absence earlier in the day at the Federal High Court in Abuja for a suit instituted against him by the EFCC stalled his arraignment.
However, in a post on his X handle, Onanuga stated that Bello should submit himself to the EFCC and hire a competent for exoneration.
He said: “Yahaya Bello, where will you run to? It’s better you submit yourself to the EFCC and get a good lawyer.”
