Taiwo Awoniyi equals Salah, Adebayor’s EPL record against Manchester United

After scoring against Manchester United on Saturday afternoon, Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, has become the first-ever Nottingham Forest player to find back of the net in seven uninterrupted Premier League matches.

Taiwo Awoniyi beat United’s players after Morgan Gibbs-White located the him with a counter-attack pass to put the ahead Forest in the second minute at Old Trafford.

Following the goal, the Kwara-born soccer star has equalled the record held by the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Mohamed Salah as the only Africans to have scored in seven consecutive Premier League games.

Willy Bolly doubled the lead for Nottingham Forest two minutes later.

Manchester United came from behind to win the game 3-2.

Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes registered their names on the scoresheet to defeat the Forest.

Former United’s manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in attendance, was thrilled by the club’s dramatic comeback.
